Summer Volunteer Opportunities 2012
Join us for 6 weeks of learning fun this summer – help elementary students from Spanish-speaking families avoid summer learning loss!
Volunteers must be 16 years of age to serve as tutors, although middle school students may volunteer with their parents.
Volunteers are asked to attend at least 8 of the 12 tutoring sessions plus two training sessions.

The Augustine Project for Literacy

Volunteers will receive training in research-based reading instruction the week before summer tutoring begins,
and then apply their learning by working with a student
in our summer tutoring program.

Volunteers must participate in four training sessions at

2:30-5:30 on
Monday, June 4
Tuesday, June 5
Wednesday, June 6
Thursday, June 7

12 hours of in-depth training using Orton-Gillingham instruction and Wilson® materials to train volunteer tutors to improve the literacy skills of students who have language-related learning difficulties.
